Deanne Maxwell (she/her) is an extern at MindWell who brings an integrated and relational approach to counseling, drawing from Person-Centered Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Her clinical interests include supporting undergraduate and graduate students experiencing stress, anxiety, and depression, as well as working with adults navigating significant life transitions in areas such as health, relationships, and career.
Deanne approaches each session with warmth, openness, and a collaborative spirit. She is deeply committed to fostering a therapeutic relationship grounded in attentive listening, genuine compassion, and empowering clients to identify and achieve their goals.
In addition to her clinical training, Deanne brings nearly two decades of experience in academic advising and career counseling at Cornell University, where she has supported college students through pivotal academic, personal, and professional transitions. This background enriches her work with clients and informs her holistic understanding of the challenges individuals face across the lifespan.
