Alexandra VanLuyk, LMHC
Training: University at Albany, State University of New York; Masters in Mental Health Counseling
Allie VanLuyk is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with a passion for supporting families, children, and individuals whose lives have been touched by substance use, trauma, and the everyday challenges that can make it hard to feel steady and whole.
Allie's clinical roots are in community-based care, where she delivered home-based interventions that met families where they were — literally and figuratively. Her approach centers on empowerment: helping clients recognize the strengths and capabilities they already carry, and building on those foundations to create lasting change.
She has supported clients navigating anxiety, OCD, ADHD, emotional dysregulation, and difficulties with social and relational connection. Her work focuses on developing adaptive coping skills and building stability across the environments that matter most — home, school, and community — so that progress made in one area reinforces growth in others.
Allie is particularly skilled at walking alongside clients as they move toward greater independence and self-confidence, and in helping them face the fears and thought patterns that have stood between them and the lives they want to be living.
In the therapy room, Allie works to create a space that feels safe, grounded, and genuinely welcoming. Drawing on a client-centered framework, she tailors her approach to each person's unique goals, values, and needs — because she believes that meaningful progress begins with feeling truly seen and heard.
