Alex Sheppard, PsyD

Dr. Alex Sheppard is a current post-doctoral fellow at MindWell Psychology’s Albany, NY practice location and is a clinical psychologist working towards licensure. He specializes in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) skills for adults across the lifespan with a variety of disorders. He has experience in working with individuals with co-occurring medical and mental health concerns, anxiety disorders, depression, chronic illness and disability, ADHD, ASD and neurodivergence, sleep disorders, and PTSD and trauma-related disorders. Dr. Sheppard takes an individualized and strength-based approach to therapy that incorporates insight, problem-solving and behavioral skills, relaxation, and mindfulness. In his free time, he enjoys spending time outdoors.
