Madison Kousoulas

Training: University at Albany (Ph.D. in psychology anticipated)

Madison (she/her) is a fourth-year doctoral student in School Psychology at the University at Albany. Through building strong relationships and taking a person-first approach, she strives to provide holistic services, interventions, and assessments that not only prevent difficulties but promote success, mental health, and thriving. 

Madison primarily has experience working in schools, working with a range of elementary and middle school students from diverse backgrounds. She has provided evidence-based academic and behavioral support at a school-wide, class-wide, and individualized level, including the use of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports and Multi-Tiered System of Supports. 

Her research focuses on the creation of a positive school climate that supports students’ success, sense of belonging, and safety. In concentrating on student-teacher relationships as well as effective and lively classrooms, she hopes to help create an environment that students flourish in. 

When not working, Madison enjoys reading, going for walks, and spending time with loved ones.
