Edward Merrit, PhD

Dr. Edward Merritt is a clinical psychologist completing his post-doctoral fellowship at the MindWell clinic. Dr. Merritt specializes in cognitive behavioral therapy for children, adolescents, and emerging adults with a variety of psychological disorders. Dr. Merritt also has expertise in working with both individual clients and families struggling with anxiety, depression and other mood disorders, executive functioning concerns, behavioral concerns, interpersonal problems, gender and identity exploration, grief and trauma. Dr. Merritt takes an integrated approach to therapy incorporating a variety of evidence-based therapies that best serve the client's needs and capabilities. 

Dr. Merritt's past research has focused on psychophysiological reactions and the development of empathy in those who experienced childhood trauma.
