To that end, she aims to create an inclusive therapeutic environment founded in cultural humility, openness, and respect. Dr. Schwartzman also tracks client progress over time and encourages feedback to ensure that clients feel they are making meaningful change in therapy. Relatedly, Dr. Schwartzman has engaged in applied, client-centered research to better understand how therapy works and what the field can do to enhance its effectiveness and personalization, particularly for marginalized communities who face systemic barriers to accessing mental healthcare.

Personally, Dr. Schwartzman is a champion for equity and an advocate for dismantling stigma surrounding mental health.
